Introduction of GIMP

GIMP, or GNU Image Manipulation Program, is a free, open-source program for image editing, photo retouching, and graphic design. It's often compared to Adobe Photoshop because of its many features.

Photo editing: Retouch, crop, zoom, erase, blur, and more
Image composition: Combine images
Graphic design: Create images, typography, colors, and shapes
Image format conversion: Convert between image formats like JPG, PNG, GIF, and TIFF
Who created GIMP? 
Spencer Kimball and Peter Mattis started GIMP in 1995
It's now maintained by a group of volunteers as part of the GNU Project

GIMP is free software licensed under the GNU General Public License.
How does GIMP work?
GIMP is designed to be extensible with plug-ins and extensions 
It has an advanced scripting interface for complex image manipulation 
You can activate a tool, then click and drag on the image to use it.
